Fun Fact:

The cumulative sum of money commonly received on pay days around the 1st and the 15th — minus taxes and health insurance premiums — is one’s salary.  This familiar system of being paid is founded as far back as biblical days when Roman soldiers were given money to purchase salt, the treasured culinary spice of the day. This money was called a “salarium” and hence emerged the adage of one being “worth their salt.” Here’s to enjoying more salt in direct deposit but less in your diet, please!
